Our Key Stage 1 pupils also had an exciting day today watching the Santa Live pantomime

Burratonโs match experience gave them a slight advantage so came out as deserved winners but our team played some really good football and battled hard throughout the match. As this was the first time we had played together as a team, and the weather was terrible, it was a brilliant performance. The children really enjoyed representing Hillfort and canโt wait for the next match. Well done everyone!

Thank you also to all of the parents who braved the weather to support the team!

We made sure to put out our big pudsey blanket on the floor for children to fill with their pennies, so Dr. Cook is having a busy week counting them all, including the pounds donated for non-school uniform day.

We got to find out more about what the fire fighters do, how to call them, what uniform they have to wear and more!

We then went outside where we were able to see their fire truck and use their hoses!

Thank you Nathan, Jack, Freddie, Matthew and Graham for visiting our school and answering some important questions for us!

Some of our own Year 6’s who play for St Cleer and Liskeard’s under 11’s, had the opportunity to have a coaching session with Argyle and play on the pitch at half time for Tuesday evening’s match.
They had a great afternoon being supported by the fans watching in the stands.

Well done #TeamHillfort!

Fantastic work #TeamHillfort

We hope our families enjoyed watching their children perform in their Christmas Nativity plays!
We were super proud of all our children and can only hope they enjoyed the experience as much as we did.
If you missed your child’s performance, please visit the link sent via ParentPay previously and you will be able to watch the nativity online.
We, again, apologise that parents were unable to come along, but would much prefer for everyone to be safe and healthy for upcoming Christmas celebrations!
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas.

We really love the designs and hope the children will too!

The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.

Mr Borlase has chosen a fantastic range of gardening equipment for our children to grow vegetables, fruits and herbs in our very own polytunnel!

We raised an amazing ยฃ645.77

Thank you to all our parents, children and staff who donated!

Thank you to all our children for being respectful and thoughtful at this time.

We found out more about what the police do, how to call them, what uniform they have to wear and lots more!
Thank you PC Steed for visiting our school and answering some important questions for us!

We would like to share a big thank you to all our staff here at Hillfort

Just as Matilda had Miss Honey, Harry had Dumbledore and Madeline had Miss Clavel – Our staff have helped shape the lives of our pupils and we couldn’t be happier to have such a great team!

Thank you M&M Theatrical Productions for providing a great show for our pupils

Just what we needed for the start up of the Hillfort Sports Academy

I just wanted to pen a note to say โGoodbyeโ to our Year 6 children…
Our Year 6’s have had to cope with far more than they should have had to over the last two years. But, they have shown resilience, gorgeous manners, a love of learning and an excitement for life! They leave well prepared for secondary life, and we will miss them….

Balanceability offers a sustainable programme for schools to promote the physical benefits of cycling for young children as well as providing a fun and engaging activity. The programme offers children the ability to become competent cyclists at an early age through the development of balance and control.
However, they were missing a logo and needed our help!
We asked pupils to design a logo to represent partnership. The values that needed to be reflected were:
โข Partnership
โข Collaboration
โข Everyone being equal
โข Finding things out to make schools better
We let their imaginations run riot and then the winnerโs work was sent to a professional to design and refine the illustration.
Congratulations to both Will and Hunter in Year 4, whose designs were mashed together to create this fantastic logo for the university!

Brilliant work!

The atmosphere was full of buzz as the Year 1s began their journey through Code.org. Our Year 5 โexpertsโ were keen to help with the reading of the course, guide with the block coding, and support the adults.

Each pupil designed and created their pasty, all helping to prepare their own meals as part of their DT work.

There were lots of ingredients to choose from and everyone chipped in to help prepare the meat and veg.

All pupils will be coming home with their pasties tonight and we’re sure they will enjoy their scrumptious creations.

PCSO Steed visited our Reception and Year 1 pupils to discuss the importance of the police and the different ways in which they can help people.
Some fantastic questions were asked at the end of each session and some amazing colouring took place!

Tutors are coming into the school to work with a variety of year groups and children โ just one of the ways โ that Hillfort children are catching up on lost learning!

Meet Noah, one of our Head Boys in Year 6

Well done to our year 4 pupils – Jack, Lucie, Ben, Amiee and Phoebe!

Well done to you all!

What a fantastic show The Early Energy Centre have put on and such remarkable talent from those involved, including one of our very own Year 6 pupils!

A big thank you from #TeamHillfort

Year 6 did a fantastic job setting up the carousel and providing classes with some excellent introductions and demonstrations. We were extremely proud and grateful to see them also going above and beyond to provide help to not only KS2 but also our KS1 pupils when completing their stations.

As for all the pupils that competed today – again a HUGE well done to you all and congratulations to all those who received 1st, 2nd and 3rd place medals!

It was great to see so many smiley faces and happy children… so much so that Miss Harrington has taken way too many photos and we simply cannot upload them all to our social media.
Next week we will be looking into the best way we can share these photos for all our parents and carers to enjoy the day.
Well done #TeamHillfort

Check out our newly renovated conservation area and make sure to visit if you get the chance.

7 have hatched so far and they are looking very sleepy after a morning with the Year 2 pupils.

The hair is 12 and 1/2 inches long and weighs 50 grams!
I think you’ll agree she looks fabulous.

Nicky and Bryher both got into grammar school by passing their 11+ examinations! A big well done to you both! and Peter has also received a headteacher award for completing some superb work in Maths.
Well done to all of you!

In 1st place is Spencer in Year 3!
Also in our top 3 are Jonah in Year 1 and Rogan in Reception.

Well done to all of you!

We have seen so many amazing costumes we just had to share the fun!
