You may remember your child entering the Howdens Drawing competition earlier this month. All children were asked to draw a picture of their favourite day during their summer holidays.
We are delighted to announce that Harry D came in 2nd place with his picture ‘scillonian 3’.
Well done Harry!

Dear families,
I just wanted to pen a note to say “Goodbye” to our Year 6 children…
Our Year 6’s have had to cope with far more than they should have had to over the last two years. But, they have shown resilience, gorgeous manners, a love of learning and an excitement for life! They leave well prepared for secondary life, and we will miss them….

Year 4 had a great time playing the new school set of glockenspiels for the first time. They hugely enjoyed it and asked to have Music again the next day!

The Year 5s were aiding the Year 1s with their coding skills yesterday afternoon. 🧑‍💻
The atmosphere was full of buzz as the Year 1s began their journey through Code.org. Our Year 5 ‘experts’ were keen to help with the reading of the course, guide with the block coding, and support the adults. 🤩

One of our governors, Simon Cassidy, has been made Mayor of Liskeard! A big congratulations from all of us at Liskeard Hillfort Primary School! 🤩

Year 3 have been super busy today making their very own pasties!
Each pupil designed and created their pasty, all helping to prepare their own meals as part of their DT work. 🍽
There were lots of ingredients to choose from and everyone chipped in to help prepare the meat and veg. 🥩🥕🥔🧀
All pupils will be coming home with their pasties tonight and we’re sure they will enjoy their scrumptious creations. 😋

We had a PCSO arrive at Hillfort yesterday!
PCSO Steed visited our Reception and Year 1 pupils to discuss the importance of the police and the different ways in which they can help people.
Some fantastic questions were asked at the end of each session and some amazing colouring took place!

We are delighted to welcome visiting tutors from the National Tutoring Programme.
Tutors are coming into the school to work with a variety of year groups and children – just one of the ways – that Hillfort children are catching up on lost learning! 🤩

We would like to present the new voice of our school answerphone! 📞
Meet Noah, one of our Head Boys in Year 6 🤩

We have some new Rockstars this week! 🤩
Well done to our year 4 pupils – Jack, Lucie, Ben, Amiee and Phoebe! 🎖

As part of the #WellbeingWednesday afternoon, Year 3, with Miss Morrell, have produced some fantastic work reflecting on their time spent in school during the current lockdown. Special thanks to Miss Holt, who helped create the heart!

Katie, Maisie, Shelby, Fred and Bethany in Year 5 were the first to receive their new books from our vending machine! Well done to all of you!

Reception had a fun day yesterday with their bike balance training! 🚴🚴‍♀️
Balanceability offers a sustainable programme for schools to promote the physical benefits of cycling for young children as well as providing a fun and engaging activity. The programme offers children the ability to become competent cyclists at an early age through the development of balance and control.

Year 2 had a fantastic afternoon exploring Hillfort Woods and searching for their list of mini bugs today!
Check out our newly renovated conservation area and make sure to visit if you get the chance. ☀

We have some little ducklings!! 😱😍
7 have hatched so far and they are looking very sleepy after a morning with the Year 2 pupils. 😴

Below is a photo of Daisy in Y4. She has had her hair chopped in aid of The Little Princess Trust. 💇‍♀️
The hair is 12 and 1/2 inches long and weighs 50 grams!
I think you’ll agree she looks fabulous. 🤩

We have 3 special pupils here that received a headteacher award yesterday! 🏅
Nicky and Bryher both got into grammar school by passing their 11+ examinations! A big well done to you both! and Peter has also received a headteacher award for completing some superb work in Maths.
Well done to all of you! 🤩

Ted has volunteered to de-weed our gardens and we must say, an amazing job has been done so far and what a beautiful day to get started! ☀️

Year 5’s had an awesome day with The Stay Safe Initiative. We talked about bullying, friendship, making positive connections online, how to get help and so much more.

We have our final winners for Mrs Cotterill’s Easter egg competition!
In 1st place is Spencer in Year 3!
Also in our top 3 are Jonah in Year 1 and Rogan in Reception. 🤩
Well done to all of you!

Our children have had a SUPER day today for #RedNoseDay! 🦸‍♀️🦸‍♂️
We have seen so many amazing costumes we just had to share the fun! 🤩

Thank you Morrisons for donating these books to our school for #WorldBookDay! A great selection to add to our ever growing library!
