Music and Art play a vital role in our broad and balanced curriculum at Liskeard Hillfort. We recognise that both Music and Art can engage and inspire children to use creativity and their imaginations to express themselves. This is why, at Liskeard Hillfort, we provide KS2 children with the opportunity to get involved in the following after school activities with our Arts Academy.

Theatre School – led by The Early Energy Centre

The Early Energy Centre produce various performances throughout the year. This is a fantastic opportunity for Hillfort children to join the cast and take part in three performances. The first of these in 2021-22 is The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. In the Spring term, children will be involved with Shakespeare’s Macbeth. The third performance is yet to be decided.

These performances will be full scale – involving costumes, a live band and professional sound and lighting setup. Everything your child will need will be provided!

Children will also be fed a gorgeous and nutritious meal from the local ‘Vegetarian Cafe’!

Steel pans – led by Mrs Jolley, Musical Director of Kernow Samba and ex-Hillfort teacher

Children will get to work with Mrs Jolley – learning the steel pans and performing as part of an ensemble in assemblies and other events!
